Pick of the events elsewhere were a very high quality pole vault, won by Cameron Walker-Shepherd of Birchfield with 4m80, from Christian North of Woodford Green with 4m70, Connell McQuisten of Bath in third with 4m40 and Jamie Courteney of Cheltenham with 4m30.
The U/13 girls high jump was very competitive , finally being won by Natasha Smith of Stroud with 1m35 and the senior mens 100m was a Cardiff 1,2 with Rory Price just pipping Anax Dasilva 11.1 to 11.2.
Strong contingents from Cwmbran and Stroud, along with some athletes from most of the other local clubs and the usual party from Downside School made it a very successful evening.
It was great to see so many of our young athletes out, most competing for the first time. I hope they all enjoyed the experience. Feed back so far has been very positive. All credit to Julia for getting them out to compete. Now let us see a lot of them competing in the Avon league at the end of the month. It was also great to see some of our seniors out competing.
