The beginners group runs on both Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7.00 pm (although come a bit earlier if possible to meet some of us!) and provides an excellent entry point for new runners. Several experienced group leaders look after the group. The group is very friendly and usually has a mix of more experienced runners out for a casual run, and recently joined runners who are gaining experience and confidence.

You should be capable of running a minimum of 3 miles, in around 30-35 minutes, although the routes may be longer than this, depending on the abilities of those who are training. The leaders will always ensure that new runners are made welcome, and are not expected to do more than they are physically capable. If you have never run with a group before you will be amazed how much easier running is when you have people to talk to and give encouragement.

Whether you’ve just run a Race for Life 5K and got the bug, or you are a more experienced runner looking to join a club, this group is an excellent place to start.
